Our Story

The SBA Camera Club was founded almost 30 years ago as a result of merging the Sherborne Camera Club and the Bradford Abbas Camera Club, which both enjoyed a small membership of local talent. The newly formed club relocated to the Bradford Abbas village hall, and has since grown into the club we all enjoy today, consisting of 30 members with skill levels ranging from complete novices to seasoned shooters!

Our Approach

What, where and when….

Our membership consists of enthusiastic amateur photographers striving to improve their photographic skills and knowledge by learning from other members, through various internal and external competitions and from visiting professionals and guest speakers.

We cover every aspect of photography and associated topics, including film, digital imaging, printing, digital manipulation, equipment, techniques and styles. Our club aims to provide a forum and workshops to help you hone your skills in whichever field of photography that interests you most, in a friendly and affable environment.

We meet every second and fourth Tuesday of the month (September to May) at the Village Hall in Bradford Abbas, starting at 7.30 – please see our Events Programme or Resources tab on the main menu for full details.

Meet the Committee

The Club is managed by an elected committee consisting of a Chairman,  Club Secretary, Treasurer and three other committee members. They are responsible for all aspects of the club’s operation,  and report to the AGM in September. The club is also affiliated to the PAGB through the WCPF.
